Duties & Responsibilites
The President of the Kent Education Association, elected by the membership-at-large, shall chair the
Representative Council and the Executive Board.
As Chief Executive Officer of the Association, the President shall:
- Set the written agenda for the Executive Board and in conjunction with the Executive Board establish the
agenda for the Representative Council;
- Appoint Chairpersons and members of committees and commissions and fill vacancies;
- Make expenditures authorized by the Association consistent with the KEA Constitution and Bylaws,
the adopted budget, or other action of the Representative Council;
- Act as the principal Association spokesperson, or delegate that function, subject to the limits
of the Constitution, Bylaws, and Policy;
- Be an ex-officio member of all committees and commissions, without vote;
- Serve as a delegate to affiliate assemblies;
- Review and resubmit annually all Association Policies to Representative Council by November 1; and
- Perform and assume all other such duties as normally pertain to the office.
- Expected to be a member of WEA-PAC and NEA-FCPE.
- Give direction to the Executive Director.
