    Member Community Involvement

    Tim Clark, Kent City Council Member. Tim recently retired from the Kent School District after 30 years of service to the Washington public school system. Tim Clark was first elected to the Kent City Council in 1993, and re-elected in 1997, 2001, and 2005. He is chair of the Operations committee and member of the Planning and Economic Development, and Public Works committees; he has also served as Council President.

    Community Organizations

    The Association is a member of the Kent and Covington Chambers of Commerce. In addition, KEA members contribute to the Kent Community Foundation. The Kent Community Foundation was founded in 1986 to support education and the cultural arts in the greater Kent area, including Covington. Originally a part of the Kent Chamber of Commerce, the Foundation became a separate non-profit charitable organization in 1993. The Foundation now serves as a conduit for tax deductible contributions from businesses and individuals for arts, education and scholarships.

    The Association participates in the Sound Alliance, a group of voluntary institutions that include religious congregations, local labor units , education locals, civic organizations and others striving to take action for the purpose of producing equitable social change.
